Statistics
Statistics is a branch of mathematics that deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data. It provides methods for summarizing and describing data, as well as making inferences and predictions based on that data.
Statistics plays a critical role in many fields, including economics, biology, psychology, engineering, and many others, as
it provides a way to make sense of
large and complex data sets.
There are two main branches of statistics: descriptive statistics, which involves summarizing and describing data, and inferential statistics, which involves
making generalizations about a population
based on a sample of data.
Statistics also encompasses a wide range of techniques, including probability theory, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and Bayesian analysis, among others. These techniques allow statisticians to extract insights from data and make informed decisions based on that data.
